The vine is upright in habit forming small thickets and exhibits low thorniness in comparison to most Rubus species. The leaves are compound and it produces showy white flowers before the tasteless edible red berry. Berries are said to have medicinal compounds and have been used to help cancer patients. Used widely by our custodians the Native Australian Aboriginals as an important Bush Food Tucker.
