High school athletes who want to become college athletes have to deal with an extra layer in the college admissions process: athletic recruiting. In this 30-minute private session—conducted by a counselor who was also a recruited Division I college athlete—you’ll learn about the steps you can take to increase your chances of recruitment, and the counselor will discuss the role athletics plays in the college admissions process. Other discussion topics may include: – Your athletic career, past, present, and future: a discussion about the level of athletics you engage in now, and how that will translate into the world of college athletics. – The life of a college athlete: what you’re gaining and sacrificing when choosing to participate in college athletics. – Communicating with college coaches: how to get on a coach’s radar, how to keep coaches interested, and what materials you’ll need to offer them.
