On May 27, 2017, Gregg Allman, the Allman Brothers Band’s legendary singer, songwriter and organist, passed away af ter years of health struggles and decades of hard living on the road. Allman will be remembered as an American icon—a tried- and-true blues vocalist who, even in his 20s, sang with the perspective of a veteran troubadour and grew old long before his time.
