The Augusta is a prefinished oak FD30 fire door with a clean, contemporary face of five horizontal panels. It gives 30 minutes of certified fire protection while showing off the natural grain of its oak veneer. About the Augusta Oak Fire Door The Augusta keeps things simple and contemporary, with five horizontal panels that suit modern rooms and open-plan spaces. The oak veneer carries a smooth factory-applied finish, so the door arrives ready to hang. It is made by Deanta, one of the established fire-door manufacturers we range. An oak veneer over a solid fire core Like every genuine fire door, the Augusta is not solid oak. It is built around a solid, fire-resisting core, faced with an oak veneer and finished with oak lippings. The core is what delivers the fire performance, while the oak face brings the natural grain and warmth of an oak door. Because the face is a natural veneer, no two doors look exactly alike. FD30 fire protection, third-party certified The Augusta is rated FD30, tested and certified to resist the spread of fire for up to 30 minutes, and it is third-party certified under both the Certifire and BM TRADA Q-Mark schemes, the recognised independent assurances for fire doors. A fire door only performs to its rating as part of a complete, fitted set, so it should hang in a suitable fire-rated frame or lining, on the correct fire-rated hinges, with intumescent strips and smoke seals around the leaf. FD30 suits most homes; where 60 minutes is needed, see our FD60 fire doors. Finishing & Care The Augusta is prefinished, so its faces arrive sealed at the factory and ready to hang, with no oiling of the main surfaces needed. Fitting still exposes some bare oak, though: cutting in the hinges, latch and handle, and trimming the door to size (up to 30mm can come off the width and height), leaves cut edges that must be sealed as you fit, using a compatible hardwax oil from our Treatex or Osmo range. Our internal door treatments guide explains how. Key Product Information FD30 fire rated: up to 30 minutes of fire resistance, third-party certified to the Certifire and BM TRADA Q-Mark schemes.
