Auld Betty is an old wives tale originating from Halifar, UK. She is believed to be a witch who would often appear in the form of a black cat. A shapeshifter. Seeking out an elderl y man, who was hunting her with a cake set aside a fire, armed with a three pronged fork. Suddenly, the black cat was seeen, sat in front of the fire as if it had just appeared. 'Cake burns' the cat screamed at the man, the man lost his temper chasing the cat up a chimney, injured but it got away. The next day Auld Betty was ill in bed.
