The Austrian Audio CC8 is a small-diaphragm true condenser built in Vienna around the OCC7 capsule. That capsule updates classic CK1-style small-diaphragm behavior for modern levels: linear response, smooth highs that stay open without harsh spikes, and enough SPL handling for cymbals, brass, and loud ensembles. Transformerless Design and Matching A transformerless output keeps the path clean and fast. Before leaving the factory, each microphone is measured to within ±0.5 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz, so any CC8 can be match-paired with any other regardless of production date. Switchable -10/-20 dB pads and 60/120 Hz high-pass filters adapt the mic to close percussion or distant acoustic sources. Typical Uses Reach for the CC8 on drum overheads and hi-hat, acoustic guitar, piano, strings, woodwinds, brass, and choir or chamber ensembles where you want accurate imaging and controlled off-axis behavior.
