Austrina is a lace yoke sweater with a relaxed funnel neck. Knitted seamlessly from the top down, the neck and yoke are cleverly shaped using needle size changes, wrapped stitches, hidden pattern increases and circular yoke shaping. Designed by Allison Jane for our brushed yarn Cirro, this romantic pullover is soft as a cloud. Yarn: The Fibre Co. Cirro (40% Suri alpaca, 40% organic cotton, 20% Merino wool, 225 m (246 yd) per 50 g hank) in shade Noble – 5 (5: 5: 6: 7: 8: 8: 9: 10) hanks. Construction notes: Austrina is knitted in the round in one piece, from the top down. Neck and yoke shaping is worked with needle size changes, wrapped stitches, hidden pattern increases, and stockinette circular yoke shaping. Body is worked straight in st st, with a narrow twisted rib hem. Sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch to cuff, then patterned as yoke at the cuff. Note: When working the yoke, you will change the start of the round position several times. If it’s helpful for you, consider using two different colors or styles of removable stitch markers, and not removing the old BORm until the new one is placed.
