Product Description In this piece, Mr. Suginaka aimed to create a traditional Kintsugi piece.Enough pure gold has been used even in the chipped areas to create a gorgeous finish.Combined with the original plant pattern, it creates a golden vine like atmosphere.Gold has the meaning of expressing Wabi-sabi while maintaining a sense of luxury and elegance in Japan. Imari ware made more than 100 years ago is called "Ko-Imari".Around the 17th century, Imari ware was exported all over the world because of its high quality. It was made in Saga Prefecture in Kyushu, far away from Kyoto. This vessel was found while organizing a storage room in a farming village, but it was broken when it was discovered.Instead of throwing away this very valuable vessel, which was made over 100 years ago, we splendidly upcycled it into the modern age with Kintsugi. Originally, the vessel was used in Japan for containing sauces when eating noodles.Since it is just the right size for a soup cup, we applied Kintsugi on it with the hope that people overseas will also incorporate Kintsugi ware into their daily lives. We'd be happy if you can enjoy your daily life in a sustainable way with this piece while thinking back to 100 years ago!May you feel a beauty of the imperfection in Kintsugi. All materials we use are natural and do not have any risks of toxicity. The piece comes with a Paulownia box, including care advises, a giveaway, and a certificate of origin and quality.
