Autism itself is not a disorder or a disease - it's a natural human diversity - but it can come with a lot of extra struggles including social difficulties, depression, anxiety, and even physical health problems. It is our hope that one day the world will be better suited and accepting to all neurotypes, and we can all work together to help that happen by supporting each other however we can. That might mean pursuing therapy or making environmental accommodations, but our collective goal is to build a place to be our authentic selves around. No matter how we get there, our charge is to respect one another's needs and choices. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the mental health issues we're exploring.
