AUTOTERM PU-5 Simple Control Panel The AUTOTERM PU-5, now called Simple Control, provides straightforward rotary control for compatible AUTOTERM Air diesel heaters in caravans, motorhomes, campervans, boats and other mobile installations. Use the dial and two buttons to select heating or ventilation and adjust the chosen setting. Availability note: AUTOTERM has discontinued this control panel. It is not listed for AUTOTERM Flow liquid heaters. Choose the correct operating mode Sensor setup Available modes How it works No external temperature sensor Power and ventilation The heater runs continuously at the selected power. Ventilation circulates air without heating. External temperature sensor connected Temperature, heat plus ventilation, and ventilation The controller can regulate around a temperature setpoint. Heat plus ventilation stops combustion above the setpoint, circulates air, then restarts heating when the temperature falls. Temperature and heat-plus-ventilation modes require a compatible external temperature sensor, AUTOTERM assembly 1458 or AT4-0017-AA0, sold separately. Power mode does not require the external sensor. AUTOTERM Air heaters manufactured on or before 16 November 2016 do not support ventilation mode. Check the heater production date on its warranty card before ordering for an older installation. Controls and indicators Rotary knob adjusts fan speed, heating power or desired temperature, depending on the selected mode and sensor setup Dedicated heater on/off and ventilation buttons LED indicators show heating, purge, ventilation and fault states Red LED blink codes provide basic fault information Allow the heater to complete its shutdown purge. Do not disconnect the control panel or cut heater power while the heater is operating. Yes. Without an external sensor, it provides power mode and ventilation mode. The heater runs continuously at the selected power in power mode. When do I need the external temperature sensor? You need a compatible sensor for temperature mode and heat-plus-ventilation operation. AUTOTERM lists assemblies 1458 and AT4-0017-AA0. Does it work with Air 2D and Air 4D heaters? Yes. It is listed for AUTOTERM Air 2D, Air 4D, Air 8D and Air 9D heaters in 12 V and 24 V versions. Will ventilation work on an older heater? Not always. AUTOTERM states that heaters manufactured on or before 16 November 2016 do not support ventilation mode. Is PU-5 the same as Simple Control? Yes. AUTOTERM now identifies the former PU-5 as Simple Control, assembly AT0030. Is this controller still manufactured? No. AUTOTERM marks Simple Control as discontinued.
