From 1922 until his death, Claude Flight's companion and collaborator was a fellow linocut artist, and textile designer, Edith Lawrence (1890-1973). They lived together from 1925 a nd Flight and Lawrence shared several exhibitions of watercolours and textiles, including the Redfern Gallery in 1928 and the French Gallery in March 1935.There is no way of knowing which hand painted which stroke, and the watercolours offered here must be credited as joint productions of Flight and Lawrence.
