Incentive Create Autumn Tree artworks inspired by artist ‘Eloise Renouf’-Line-Shape-Space-Colour Supplies Coloured paper in A4 or A3 (backing paper) Black and white markers Small squares or circles of paper in red, yellow, orange, brown and black Craft glue Paintbrush OR a computer/tablet with a paint program if you wish to do this digitally. Lesson 1 Eloise Renouf is an artist, designer and maker. Her work is figurative and abstract based on her love of strong shapes, textural mark-making and crisp lines. Observe her examples and make notes of strong repetitive shapes and lines. Also note the positioning, overlapping and shapes of the trees. 2 Cut out two or three similar shapes of each colour. In our artwork we have 2 brown triangular shapes, 2 red round shapes etc. 3 Decide on the patterns for each tree. A white marker is best for darker coloured paper (brown and black) and black is best on the lighter colours. Ensure each colour has the same pattern. In our artwork the red has twirly branches, and the orange has wispy, spiky branches. 4 Position these on the larger coloured paper. When happy with the positioning of the trees, paste them down. 5 Add lower trunks to front trees in black or white markers. 6 This activty can also be done on a computer with a paint program. Colour the background space first. Paint in the major tree shapes. Add patterns/lines in white or black. Print and display. 7 Display around the room with information about autumn or trees in general.
