Gold jewellery is PVD plated in 18k gold. Silver jewellery is un-plated, highly polished surgical steel, and is naturally a darker tone than sterling silver. While our jewellery is highly resistant to tarnish, please avoid contact with perfumes, make up, cosmetics & cleaning products, along with hard, sharp & abrasive surfaces, as these may damage the gold plating and react with the steel. Prolonged contact with salt & chlorine may also damage the steel & gold plating, so always rinse well with clean fresh water immediately after swimming or exercising. Please note: Due to the PVD gold plating process, it is normal for your gold jewellery to have very small areas where gold plating may be absent, particularly moving parts such as the hinges and clasps of earrings and necklaces. The irregularities are not considered a fault, rather are a result of the manufacturing process. These areas are not at all visible when jewellery is being worn, and will not affect the overall look of your jewellery.
