Piqué tortoiseshell snuff box of circular form c.1780 with a sepia watercolour on opaline glass under glass depicting cupid with a pick axe, a heart in a nest at the top of the roc k. The box would have been a love token,the sentiment that 'avec les temps' (in time) your heart will fall. Historic repair to top of lid and a few absent stars but a charming sepia I haven't seen before. Diameter of sepia 2 inches. Box 3 inch diameter. Show more
