The Avro Vulcan was a British jet-powered, tailless, delta-wing strategic bomber that served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) from 1956 until 1984. It was a key part of the United Kingdom's nuclear deterrent during the Cold War. A total of 136 Avro Vulcan bombers were built, including the two prototypes. Of these, 19 are known to survive today.
