Barbara Rogers Houseworth This 1950-60s watercolor on paper organic abstract is by painter and illustrator, Barbara Rogers Houseworth. Born in 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana she rec eived an education in Fine Arts from Indiana University from 1943-1946, and exhibited at the John Herron Art Museum in Indianapolis. A 1950’s Midwestern housewife, Barbara created her prolific body of work despite the pressures of domestic life and motherhood. In fact, these pressures became the subject matter of much of her work, and are stylistically reminiscent of both Surrealism and the Social Realist painting style. 1950-60s Watercolor on Paper 12"x8.75" unframed Estate stamped on the back.
