Barbara Rogers Houseworth This 1950-60s narrow abstract oil and sand mixed media on canvas is by painter and illustrator, Barbara Rogers Houseworth. Born in 1925 in Indianapolis, I ndiana she received an education in Fine Arts from Indiana University from 1943-1946, and exhibited at the John Herron Art Museum in Indianapolis. A 1950’s Midwestern housewife, Barbara created her prolific body of work despite the pressures of domestic life and motherhood.
