Barbara Lewis This 1942 watercolor on paper coastal landscape is by Chicago-based painter, photographer, and printmaker Barbara Lewis (1925-2008). Lewis studied at the Art Institut e of Chicago (1943), University of Illinois at Chicago (1967-70), and the IIT Institute of Design (MFA in Printmaking, 1970-72). Through her mixed-media compositions, she explored Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art, often using imagery of Chicago and her travels to Europe and Northern Africa. 1942 Watercolor on Paper 17.75"x11.75" unframed Signed and dated lower right.
