Product Overview Pure-Flo® B80 by Oil-Dri is a naturally active bleaching and clarification adsorbent produced from an intergrowth of hormite- and smectite-type clay minerals. It i s used in edible-oil refining and compatible liquid-purification processes where color reduction, residual-soap removal, phosphorus-related impurity reduction, trace-metal adsorption and filtration performance are important. Unlike acid-activated bleaching earths, B80 relies on the inherent activity of its mineral structure rather than mineral-acid activation. This gives B80 a distinct position within the bleaching-earth family and makes it useful to evaluate where treatment performance, filtration behavior, product retention and process economics must be considered together.
