The B8962-30K, produced by Kollmorgen, is a 2-axis drive with 30 kilobytes of user program memory. Equipped with a RS-232C interface supporting 9600 baud, it can accommodate up to 99 drive units. It features eight optically isolated programmable low-active inputs, with a current range from 12 to 35 milliamps. The unit also utilizes a differential incremental encoder with a maximum frequency of 1.5 megahertz. With eight open-collector type programmable outputs, they can support a voltage range of 5 to 24 volts DC and each can source up to 100 milliamps. The B8962-30K is designed to shut down at a heatsink temperature over 55 degrees Celsius. It operates at a power input of 90 to 230 Volts AC, delivering 5 Amps continuously and peaking at 10 Amps at motor output with internal fuse and short-circuit protection. An optional front panel providing drive programming and operator input can also be ordered.
