It contains over 800 million live bacteria per millilitre, helping your filter convert harmful substances such as ammonia and nitrite into safer substances for koi and pond fish. This product is ideal for use when starting a new pond filter, after filter maintenance, after water changes, or during water quality problems. The beneficial bacteria support a healthy biological balance in the pond, helping to create clearer water and a safer environment for fish. It may also help reduce fish stress and improve resistance by supporting stable pond conditions. Bactoplus Filter Start is made from 100% natural bacteria and contains no chemicals. It is also pathogen-free, making it suitable for koi ponds, fish ponds, and biological filter systems when used as directed. Dosage Guide Use 1 litre per 20,000 litres of pond water. For starting the filter or when ammonia or nitrite levels are high, use 50 ml per 1,000 litres of water. After cleaning the filter or replacing water, use 25 ml per 1,000 litres. For monthly maintenance, use 25 ml per 1,000 litres once a month. For best results, turn off your UV lamp and/or ozone device for 24 hours and ensure good aeration during use.
