Bad Boy Bread and Butter Pickles: We call these our “gateway pickles”, a great pickle for those just dipping their toe in the world of pickles, a brilliant starter jar. These are a n American staple, named during the great Depression when meat and cheese for sandwiches were scarce. These tangy pickled cucumbers were a cheap alternative to put between bread and butter. Tasting notes: Pickled in a slightly sweet brine (although would still not class this as a ‘sweet’ pickle), turmeric, garlic, onions and mustard. Cut in thick rounds for extra crunch and have a good bit of bite to them. Not dissimilar to a cucumber version of piccalilli. Great on: Burgers, Ham + Cheese Sandwiches, straight out of the jar.
