Bladder pipes date from the 13th century and are the forerunner of the crummhorn. These instruments were used all over Europe. The instruments have a bag like a bagpipe but made ou t of a sheep's bladder with a blowpipe and a chanter. The instruments we offer are made in Czechoslovakia in the traditional manner. Key of C major; range middle C up one octave and one note to D. Can get most of the chromatic notes by cross-fingering. Had a small tear in the bladder which was repaired. Plays with very little pressure. Show more
