In 1953 my late Grandfather spent a month travelling around the Middle East on business and amongst a lot of papers were original airline tickets, maps and Hotel receipts, survivor s from a golden age of early air travel. I painted this Golden eagle on a receipt from the Semiramis Hotel, which sounded a very lovely place to stay. Medium: Acrylic on vintage paper receipt (mounted). Dimensions: 19.5cm x 20.5cm. Origin: Semiramis Hotel, Baghdad (Receipt for Mr. Bird, 1953). Inclusions: Sold with a signed certificate of authenticity. Show more
