Named after a deepwater strait with incredible history just 30 minutes outside of New Orleans, Rigolets means trench in French. The Rigolets supply salt water from the Gulf of Mexi co to the expansive Lake Pontchartrain estuary, and along with the sea water comes redfish, speckled trout, largemouth bass, black drum, jack crevalle, sheepshead and tarpon—creating a veritable fish highway and some of the best fishing in the state.
