“Bal d’Afrique is one of my first perfumes. When it was created, I was obsessed with the idea of translating memories into a fragrance while also including an imaginary element. My father lived and traveled in Africa for about 10–15 years. I had read his journals, discovering how he would journey on cargo ships, meeting all kinds of people… So I imagined arriving in Africa through someone else’s words.
