Bali holds a singular place within Indonesia. For centuries, its temples and rituals have shaped an environment where spirituality remains inseparable from ordinary life. This cont inuity has made the island one of the most recognized and documented territories of the archipelago. French artist photographer Marius Moragues has been living in Indonesia since 2015. Drawn by the strength of the Balinese people and the persistence of their traditions, his work emerges from lived encounters across the island, tracing faces, gestures, and moments that reveal the island’s character beyond its familiar image. This volume presents a selection from an archive of over 50,000 photographs.
