Dhara Mei aka Carly Tan is a budding Vancouver-based artist, and creative entrepreneur. Raised in Southeast Asia as a ‘Third Culture Kid’ with a diverse family background, Carly ai ms to brings her unique worldview into her work. Self-taught as a graphic designer, illustrator, and portrait photographer, Carly’s style and expression across each medium is exploratory and ever-changing; ranging from moody and nostalgic to colourful and child-like. The latter expression being a major focal point in her current series of collections – created in late 2020/early 2021 with the desire of bringing levity to hard times through the use of playful colourways, easy flowing lines, and simplicity in design. These rainbow arch prints are minimal and warm, created through the exploration of space (both positive and negative), and the beauty of the curve predominant in midcentury modern design. Show more
