Each piece is unique and will vary slightly in appearance. Colour variations occasionally occur in bamboo throughout its life, however, this is a natural characteristic and not a product defect. Bamboo can develop cracks due to rough handling and changes in weather. All our bamboo products are treated with a varnish providing a good coating on the surface of the product, giving it a soft sheen finish and protecting it from moisture. In saying that, as it is a natural product, the bamboo should not be washed or be left wet for a long period of time. DO NOT submerge bamboo in water. Only wipe with damp cloth then dry with a tea towel. If your products do go mouldy, to clean use distilled vinegar to rub off the mould and leave it to sit for an hour.
