The shade hangs on a cord from a straight solid-wood arm fixed to a square wood backplate, so it reads as a small pendant brought to the wall. Lit, the liner turns the whole cage into a soft lantern and the strips print fine bars of shadow on the wall behind; unlit, it is a pale basket on a block of wood.
