Banana melon is an heirloom muskmelon variety first listed in 1885 by J.H. Gregory. Sometimes referred to as banana cantaloupe, this dependable heirloom produces excellent yields o f unique, elongated melons. Orange-fleshed fruit have a built-in ripeness indicator—they turn yellow when ripe.
