95+ Points - Philip Rich Bannockburn Vineyards was established by the late Stuart Hooper in 1974; his vision was to create a vineyard which would produce Australian wine of a quality to emulate the great wines of France, in particular top-line Burgundies. The 2025 Bannockburn Gamay marks the fourth release of this wine, which is fast gaining a reputation as one of Australia's best Gamays. Inspired by the wines of Beaujolais this is a combination of mouthwatering, juicy vibrance and creamy intent. The 2025 season produced naturally ripe, concentrated fruit with even ripening and excellent definition. Bright red fruits are lifted by spice and subtle herbal detail, with fine tannins and a supple, vibrant flow that balances purity with savoury complexity. "95+ Points. From a 0.57ha block planted in 2014 and grafted to gamay in '19. This is the product of a warm, dry vintage, evident by the deep colour and aromas of morello cherry, baking spices and violet.
