Baobab Tree, also known as Upside Down, Tree of Life, Monkey Bread and sometimes Cream of Tartar Tree is native to South Africa, Zimbabwe, other parts of mainland Africa, Madagascar and Australia. Unique not just for flowers opening at dusk so fast you can't see it with the naked eye and closing at dawn, but for their unusual fruit and ability to store water (up to 120,000 litres) inside their trunk. The fruit of the Baobab are large oval to round and berry like with kidney shaped seeds inside a dry, pulpy matrix. It's from the seeds , (from South Africa) that this Gin has been made.
