Bark, the latest addition to TDR’s 3d printed vase collection, reflects our passion for the beauty of the Australian bush. Bark is based on the surface of one Red Stringybark tree (Eucalyptus Macrorynchus), familiar to designer Chief Rabbit from her daily walks. Its photograph was the basis of a sophisticated image map, which was painstakingly manipulated it into a cohesive, functional 3d object. Bark is a homage to the natural beauty all around us, to nature’s resilience, and to the deep history every tree holds in its skin. How to use Bark Each Bark vase comes with a removeable inner sleeve, enabling the use of water. The vase can be used for fresh flowers when the watertight sleeve is installed, or for dried arrangements sans sleeve. Bark is printed with eco-friendly, gritty, low-glitter textures, which enhance its surface detail. You can choose from traditional matching bark and sleeve sets, or opt for a more surrealist take on Bark, with contrasting bark and sleeve colours.
