This book is the story of the people who came to Barkerville, their lifestyles, the town they built and the memories they left for the people of today. The Barkerville of today is a replica of the once-thriving boom town. It is a must-see tourist stop, and this book brings to life the life and times of the town that gold built. It was when Billy Barker made his big gold strike in 1862 that set off a chain reaction in the British Columbia Interior which resulted in Barkerville becoming the largest town north of San Francisco.
