The second book of the series, Landscape Paintings, is dedicated to the landscape paintings of artist Barkley L. Hendricks. Hendricks was originally a student of landscape painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in the late 1960s, where he also discovered a love for photography. The publication, which presents for the first time a selection of landscape paintings by Hendricks, is enriched with a contribution by art critic, art historian and scholar Barry Schwabsky. Landscape Paintings is part of an overall project that consists of four booklets, each of which provides an in-depth exploration of a corpus of works integral to the artist’s output, as well as a comprehensive 300-page monograph that traces the artist’s evolution for the entirety of his career.
