Join Linda Read to create your own beautiful Barn Quilt! Your completed barn quilt can be hung either inside or outside. Each student will select the pattern they would like to paint prior to class. Paints will also be chosen from our available color pallet. The barn quilt board (aluminum composite) will be primed and your quilt design already drawn on the board so that when you get to the class you will be ready to paint. Each student should be able to complete their barn quilt so that they can take it home with them that same day. Linda will instruct the student on taping and painting the barn quilt as well as talk a little about the history of barn quilts during the process. The students will be given sealer and instructions on how to add it at home since the board needs to cure for a week to 10 days. Included with the class: · 2 ft x 2 ft Aluminum Composite (barn quilt board) · Paint, brushes and supplies necessary to complete the barn quilt NOTE: If you plan to hang your barn quilt outside you will need to seal it with a special sealer that she will discuss in class. Linda Read has been quilting since 1996 and has a love for all things quilty. She is from the Midwest where Barn quilts originated. If you have ever driven in rural areas in the Midwest, even in the northeast you may have seen some of these beauties mounted on the barns and outbuildings. Linda decided she would like to share the love of barn quilts and teach people to make their own barn quilt.
