This is Marlborough Chardonnay, but not as most know it. After years working alongside Jura legend Domaine Labet, Ashleigh Barrowman has brought that same Jura-centric, "vins vivan ts" philosophy to the Southern Valleys. Sourced from the biodynamic Wrekin Vineyard, the Queen of Swords is all about tension and savoury detail. It’s lean and saline, trading tropical fruit for notes of bruised apple, flint, and a nutty, yeast-driven complexity from 18 months on lees. Unfined and unfiltered, it has a beautiful, hazy energy and a punchy, saline finish that makes it incredibly food-friendly. High-wire New Zealand white at its most compelling. Show more
