(Peony) Paeonia 'Bartzella' is a great new cross of the herbaceous garden peony with the woody tree types. 'Bartzella', when mature, is breathtaking! The blooms are semi-double, 6-8" butter yellow in color with a splash of rose purple in the middle. Once established it has been known to produce 80 or more blooms per plant! The sweet fragrance is breathtaking, a butterfly's dream come true. The strong stems, graced with healthy green foliage similar to that of a tree peony, nicely hold the large blooms upward. No staking is required with 'Bartzella' making this a great choice not only for your gardens but also for landscape design. The Intersectional peony 'Bartzella' has an increased bloom time due to the new side shoots putting on later blooms.
