Designed by Arjan Van Dal, the Bas Cake Stand Plaster is part of the Family collection, a range of ceramics inspired by an original series of vases designed by Sir Terence Conran i n the 1990s. This series marks the first time the London-based potter has worked on a large-scale production, having previously focused on one-off pieces. The resulting Family collection contains bowls, vases and ceramics featuring curved, architectural silhouettes designed to catch the light and cast soft shadows, with tonal variations that emphasise their sculptural nature. The Bas Cake Stand is finished with a food-safe glaze and is therefore suitable to be used for kitchen serveware and dinnerware. Materials & Finishes:Made in Portugal from earthenware, each cake stand is slip-cast from Arjan’s original hand-thrown masters made in his North London Studio. The resulting pieces in the collection are finished in a range of complementary hues, each designed to be displayed individually or as a collected series.
