Designed to deodorize, clean, and condition synthetic technical baselayers and underwear NikWax BaseWash this product will extend the life expectancy of baselayers by clearing up t hat unfortunate tendency of synthetics to retain odors over time. BaseWash beats detergents by not only effectively cleaning synthetic layers, but by deodorizing and inhibiting the build up of body odor. The conditioning in BaseWash accelerates drying and improves cooling efficiency of synthetic base layers for a piece that is going to smell fresh and perform better after a bath! Synthetic base layers are fantastic when it comes to creating a comfortable, dry, micro-climate next to your skin when you're working hard but wicking away body moisture and drying quickly. But over time bacteria and body oils can lead them to smell more than a little funky. Unfortunately, conventional detergents and conditions can impair the wicking properties of synthetic activewear.. the very reason you chose the synthetic piece in the first place... by causing the fabric to maintain, instead of release, moisture. And over time not even a strong detergent perfume will mask the build up of odors in the fabric. A sniff test under the arms will confirm that the detergent isn't working the way you'd expect it to. Switch to Nikwax BaseWash. Once your base layer has been used a few times and is starting to smell, wash it to deodorize, freshen, soften, and enhance drying and cooling. Whether your synthetics are base layers, socks, sports apparel or travel clothing this is the product that will keep them in top shape season after season. When we care for our well loved clothes and gear with this cleaning kit, we extend the life of our gear, allowing us to get the most out of our purchases.
