The third installment in my Basic Bladesmithing series, Heat Treating is not only confusing to a lot of new (and old) bladesmiths, but it can be very hard to sort the good info from the bad. Disclaimer: This is not a video where I recite a list of heat treating formulas for different alloys - that info is easily available from most steel distributors. What I do is try to explain WHY we do what we do, and what's happening inside the steel when we heat treat our knives.
