If you’re growing with mineral nutrients (such as coco, hydro, or bottled salt-based feeds), checking both pH and EC is important. Plants can only absorb nutrients properly when the solution is within the correct range, and this kit gives you the basic tools to make sure your feed is on point. This is especially useful for first-time growers, where small mistakes with nutrient strength or pH can quickly slow growth and stunt your yields. Do You Need to Check pH & EC With Organic Feeds? If you’re growing organically in soil, things are much more forgiving. EC monitoring isn’t required, and pH adjustment is usually unnecessary because healthy soil biology naturally buffers the root zone. This removes chlorine, chloramine, and excess carbonates, taking care of most water-related issues without the need for constant testing.
