The spring bar tool is the most important device for watch strap changes. There are a wide range of spring bar tools available in the market today. One end has an 'I' tip or straight pin pusher at 0.8mm and protrusion at 5.6mm. The other end has a 'Y' tip or a fork profile that has a curved profile that is able to hold a compressed spring bar in position without letting it eject or 'fly off' in the process of removal. Both tips are made of high-carbon hardened, tempered steel alloy and their distinct matte-black appearance is the result of a deliberate chemical treatment known as black oxide.
