They are fortified farmhouses , characterized by security measures against raids .The walls of these buildings are extremely thick and this has been reflected in the design.The ground floor dedicated to stable space for the most valuable animals, and a vaulted stone or flat wooden floor between it and the first floor with internal access as a staircase or ladder.
