Inspired by a 19th century Venetian mirror design, the verre eglomise decoration around the frame, popular in 1940s France, gives this piece its distinctive style. The Battersea Mi rror is produced from mirror and verre eglomise engraved decoration around the frame. This form of engraving dates to pre-Roman times.
