Nickolas York, AKA Professor York is a tattoo artist base out of Denton, Texas. He has been tattooing since he was 15, getting his first tattoo machine two months before starting high school and practiced the craft by tattooing classmates and anyone else that was up for it. Nick quickly fell in love with the turn-of-the-century technique and tools of tattooing and since made a specialty of recreating 100+ year old tattoo designs. One of his favorite pieces is by an old English tattoo artist named George Burchett, who was one of the best artists at the time. The design named the "Battle Royal" was of a dragon fighting an eagle, fighting a snake. Nick never found a complete image of the work, but compiled enough different photos of George's shop to recreate the art in its entirety, now seen on this ski for the first time in 100 years! We decided to compliment the historic art with a rich wood background to match the vibe of that era. On the base of the ski, we zoomed way in on the art and filled the ski end to end to really stand out and pop when you're airing out of the powder or over your friends. I'm building only 350 pair of these Limited Edition skis and hand-signing and numbering each. These are sure to become a classic as rare as the original tattoo artwork that inspired it, so grab a new pair before they sell out!
