After taking the time to look back on what I journalled while I was creating this final piece of the collection, I came away with a verse. Hebrews 2:1, 3-4 "We must pay more carefu l attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. THis salvation, which was first announced, byt the Lord, was confirmed to us by thsoe who heard Him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles and gifts of the Holy SPirit distributed according to His will." This verse seems pertinent to being filled. It is a common prayer of mine to be filled, as I am nothing apart from Him. Below is a personal prayer written on July 5th, during the creation of this piece. "Lord, I don't want to keep you at arms length. Thank you for thsi beautiful relationship tha tyou've invited me into. Fill me today God and may I walk in your ways. May I be aware of the signs, wonders, miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit that you impart through those around me. May they point me back to you. You are such a good Father. Amen" One summer day my family and I were ont he road heading west, as we often to from CHilliwack. We stopped in at a gas station. My husband jumped out fo the SUV and I sat in the passenger seat. What stood in front of me, spole in a new what this morning. It read 'On the Rund - Never Run on Empty.' Instead of a slogan, it felt like a reminder from the Lord to never run on empty, but instead to be filled. How exciting that He doesn't expect us to do things on our own strength. We have an almighty Father who wants us to spend time with Him and in return He gives us peace through turmoi, strength when we're wak and presence through each storm. He glorious is HE??!! We have so much to be grateful for as children of God, may we never take a moment for granted. Be filled with the beauty of nature that He surrounds us with. Be filled with all the yummy food He created for us to enjoy. Be filled with the people He has handpicked to be a part of your life. Be filled with the adventure He take you on. Be filled with His goodness even when the dark clouds loom. He will sustain you, hold on and let the storm pass you by. The sun will rise again. Show more
