One of eight mini seascape paintings, a series inspired by Psalm 46:10:“Be still, and know that I am God.” A quiet but bold reminder to pause, trust, and rest in His presence. Midway through painting, something unexpected happened. I had just laid down a thick layer of paint and set the canvases outside to dry. Suddenly, a flash thunderstorm rolled in, washing away an entire layer of my work. At first, I could’ve been discouraged. But I took a breath. I waited. I prayed. I realized that maybe this wasn’t a setback — maybe it was grace. In truth, the first layer had been too heavy. It was hiding the fluorescent pink I’d laid beneath to tie into the pink-painted edges of the canvases. When I came back to repaint, I did it with more intention, more restraint — and more trust. What came out of that unexpected storm was something better than I could’ve planned. These paintings now carry that story — of surrender, of starting again, and of letting God lead. They are small, but full of meaning. Let them remind you to be still — even in the storm — and trust in the One who holds it all together.
