Each Easter candle is adorned with a colorful beaded cross-shaped amulet (Filakto in Greek), handcrafted on the Greek Island of Tinos. These Filakta include flowers from the Epitaphios and cotton soaked with Oil and Myrh from the Evangelistria Church. The Epitaphios is an icon typically made from a large embroidered and richly adorned cloth bearing an image of the body of Christ, often accompanied by his mother and other figures, used during the liturgical services of Good Friday. The Filakta are imported from Greece. The tapered hand-dipped candles are 17" long by 3/4" in diameter. Arrives to your godchild gift wrapped in cellophane.
